MaMassage® Intro to Trauma Informed Communication for Perinatal Clients

This live online course will help therapists define trauma, how to identify characteristic behaviors of trauma survivors, and explore how to communicate and respond to survivors from a trauma informed care perspective. This course will specifically focus on trauma related to perinatal health experiences and outcomes. Earn 2 NYS / NCBTMB CE hours.

Students will:

Explore the definition of trauma informed care through lecture and discussion of articles and other materials

Learn why trauma informed care is particularly important in communicating with perinatal clients, and which clients are at higher risk for trauma

Develop ways to communicate from a trauma informed approach with clients through case studies / role play and discussion
